Coolest picnic pavilion. More on the scale of a city pocket park, there's not much here. However, it is the first Pennsylvania State Park. There's a snowmobiling trail for a winter activity. For events at this park visit: events dcnr pa For more information: pa parks and forests (diamond)

Mont Alto State Park is a very pretty historical park with a refurbished pavilion, right up the road from Penn State Mont Alto. The West Branch of Antietam Creek runs through it. There's currently no electricity at the pavilion, but there's talk about putting it in again in the future. It is a great space for reunions, picnics, and other social events.

Easy hike along a creek that is close to the road. Heavily vegetated and private. No one else on the trail on a Saturday afternoon in September. Heaven.

Had my daughter's first birthday party at the dance pavilion, and it was perfect! Such a beautiful and clean area with bathrooms close and a little playground for the older kids to play on.

Small but cool. The old carousel pavilion is really unique. Though right along rt233, it's still a great place to picnic.

Very simplistic and close to nature. Perfect place to hold a BBQ, picnic, family gathering or birthday party.
